DIY Sign

Saw this on Pinterest (of course), and I thought it was the cutest idea. Tried it and was fairly pleased.

Supplies:
Plain, wooden plaque (got mine from Michael's), paint of your choice (I mixed mine to create a unique color), stencils, and your choice of painting utensils.

Go ahead and paint your plaque. Allow it to dry.

Once your plaque is dry, go ahead and begin stenciling what you'd like your sign to say with your choice of color for the wording. I do highly suggest that you trace it out first before you actually paint! I didn't, and my words turned out a bit crooked.

That's it! My sign says ¨Give Thanks,¨ and I hung it above our pantry door.

DIY Design Trivet

So, do you have any of those boring cork mats you use as your trivets? There is an easy DIY solution to make those mats beautiful! I saw this idea on Pinterest, and I finally decided to try it! However, the original post only showed the felt and stones, but I found it was way too flimsy, so I decided to add the cork mat for support, and it was a winner!

First, here are what you'll need for supplies:

Felt, any color-I went with black

Your boring cork mat

Any design rocks of your choice (I got mine from Michael's; you'll want to be sure they're relatively flat)

Definitely want some scissors to cut your felt

Hot glue gun with some glue sticks

Once you've got all your supplies, its easy peasy!

First, cut your felt to match the shape of the mat you are covering, then hot glue the felt to the mat.
Begin hot gluing the stones to the felt.
See the pictures below to see final results!
